Kuta Beach, Bali - A view of the pool from the upper floor of our hotel. We blindly took taxi from the airport after midnight the night we arrived and ended up at this nice hotel. We treated ourselves for the next few days and stayed in this relatively expensive (less than $15 a night) luxury hotel in the center of happening Kuta Beach. As a Westerner in Southeast Asia for the first time, it took me a while to get used to how affordable everything is in Indonesia. I just couldn't wrap my head around the idea of considering anything expensive. Soon I began to realize that it doesn't take much to be happy and could enjoy living on a few dollars a day for all my expenses.
