Big Gum Swamp Wilderness Area in the Osceola National Forest, Florida. We bushwhacked our way through the underbrush and sawtooth palms on an old trail in the wilderness area. It was a joy to get ourselves so far away from all roads and human activity, and to tune our skill at finding our way without a path to follow. We would have liked to see more wildlife than we did, however there was plenty of fresh Florida black bear poop underfoot.
